Women in Business and Leadership SA (WIBALSA) is a community for women who are taking charge of their businesses and their careers. We turn ideas into action through hands-on workshops, coaching, visibility opportunities, and peer support that delivers results.
Co-founded by Jac Travers and Candice Pemberton, we blend leadership and business expertise. Jac brings leadership experience in strategy, facilitation, and capability building. Candice brings deep experience in small business and community retail. Together, we create spaces where women push the success of their businesses and their careers.
Walk in full of potential. Walk out with actions, momentum, and peeps who will back you.

Candice – Co-Founder & Operations Lead

Candice did not plan to start a business. She just knew she needed something better. After years in property management, a corporate merger drained the joy from work, so she chose a different path and backed herself. That decision became Little Posey Boutique, a market stall with her sister and business partner that grew into a beloved brand, and then into Little Posie Collective, a thriving retail space where small businesses grow together.

What she brings

Candice turns possibility into progress. She has beaten the odds and grown a simple weekend market stall to a thriving shared retail space, showing how steady, practical action compounds. She creates pathways for women to test ideas, access shelf space and share costs, lowering the barriers to growth. Her style is direct and community minded. Say the hard things out loud, make a call, try it, learn and move. That is how momentum happens.

Why WIBAL

Candice believes business and leadership both reward action and clear communication. Define the problem. Workshop it. Solve it. Move forward. She wants WIBAL to be the place where women feel confident to own strengths, improve gaps and outsource what drains them. No one knows everything. Progress comes from trying, learning and trying again.

Beyond business

Between running a business and raising a family, Candice is always on the move. When she finally gets a quiet moment, it is a good book, some escapism and the occasional trash TV for balance. Her philosophy is simple. Try it. If it fails, learn. Then try something else.

Jac Travers – Co-Founder & Strategic Lead

Jac is a strategist, leader and unapologetic advocate for women carving their own paths. With over 15 years leading teams and transformations across public and private sectors, she builds cultures where people can do their best work and results follow.

What she brings

Jac has led high-performing teams through uncertainty, designed and executed organisation-wide strategies, and modernised clunky systems to improve access and efficiency. She develops capability through mentorship and practical leadership development. Her approach is people-first, data-aware and action-oriented. She thrives where bold ideas meet decisive delivery.

Why WIBAL

Too many brilliant women are overlooked or asked to play by outdated rules. Jac co-founded WIBAL to change that. WIBAL creates spaces where women take the lead in business and in their careers, translate ambition into action and back themselves with evidence. Curiosity, transparency and resilience anchor her leadership. As Chris Voss puts it, awkwardness signals learning. Build others up and everyone shines brighter.

Beyond business

If she is not leading, strategising or creating opportunities for women, Jac is probably watching RuPaul’s Drag Race, sleeping, or she is dead. There is no other reasonable explanation.
